Whats a good starter tortoise , the only guides i can list recommendations for the state you live in, but i live in the UK, i am thinking of getting some hermann (please correct me).
There £175 at my local watermark, is this a good price and what liveing conditions do the require (i would probably get 2).

Any advice is greatly apreciated

Hermanns are a very good species for someone new to torts. £175 is quite expensive for a hatchling, what age are the torts you've seen?

i wouldnt pay 175 for a hatchling no way,thast expensive ,
try the for sale section you will find you can get 2 bigger ones for a little more than that,
chech out a few breeders b4 buying any that way if your local you can look b4 you buy then and pick the nicest
every tort is nice to me tho :S
