would soil from my garden mixed with play sand be ok in my tort table or would i be best buying top soil from the garden center?

that depends on when the last time any weedkillers or pesticides were used, you might be better of getting a bag of unfertilized topsoil or compost (make sure theres no fertilizers or weedkillers or anything un-natural in it)

theres never been anything used on it but im digging out for my pond tommorow and thought i might be able to use some of the soil iv got to remove

I think it would be ok aslong as you removed all the bugs and since theres no pesticieds or nething.

bugs i think the torts would just eat them,

we used the soil in our enclosure that we dug out,we made a riddle with chicken wire to get any big stones out then mixed it with sand to brake it up a little just waiting for it to dry a bit then they can go in as it was like slop from the rain, the enclosures all sorted not just waitin on the sand and soil
