Made a small error the set up is 4 ft not 3.

The bottom shelf that you can see is 2 foot (lengh) and 1ft in depth. That will be the 'play area' then behind the cupboard to the right will be the 'sleeping area'. That is just under 1ft in length and 1 foot in depth.

This will be the home as a baby. When i am home from work, the glass doors will be open and he can roam part of my room

Plan is for sliding glass doors on the front, but currently planning a way to get some good ventelation in there.

Sorry but I dont see how that will be big enough, even for a baby dwarf tort.

Glass doors are not good either, they need lots of ventilation and free air flow plus they wont know that its glass and will just keep trying to get through it.

You would be better off buying a tort table.

Took the advice on board and have now made him an enclosure instead of a 'viv'

Nearly finished adding on to the new home.

This is how it started off:

This is what it looked like y'day:

(Snake viv isn't finished yet, currently making some hides to replace the boxes and going to put up a background)

Today, i've raised the shelf level alot (those 4 brown bits you can see) put in the heat lamp and UVB starter kit and bulb. Also put some slate around the rock in the corner.

Its 3 foot in lengh and 2 foot wide.

Going to have the majority of it covered in a 60/40 mix of top soil to sand and the small bit by his 'sleeping house' in hemp.

But due to T.T's for sale thread i'm now confused and torn between a Herman Dwarf or 2 Spur Thighed torts.

Thanks, i am really happy with it.

Total cost from B&Q was £25, thats for; the contiboard (still lots left over), most of it cut to my measurement too, screws and iron on lamiante to finish it off.

Then picked up another UVB bulb and starter kit from the pet shop. (note i have a 10.0 bulb now not the 5.0 one pictured) Already had spare heat bulb with fixings / water and food dish / 'No Entry' sign / plants at home.

So minimal cost, only taking up an extra bit of space and doesn't look half bad.

Yer, the pictures in T.Ts thread got me all excited and then annoyed as put me in a conumdram about which to get lol.

Can't get the little fella until i come back from holiday though, which is in a week and half. Really can't wait!!!

Will stick more pictures up when its complete and the tort is home.
