the shell looks a bit flat though!!!!

ah I see, do you mean the top of the shell or the bottom of the shell is a little flat? and what does that indicate?

id say male to, tail length and plastron looks slightly concave.....but im no expert lol

Quite possible male going on the tail length and the angle of the anal scutes. A clearer pic showing his/her vent would hopefully confirm it.

Have you got a macro option on your camera? It's usually a little flower symbol? If you set it to that it will make your close up pics clearer.

It's a bit of a shock when you find out your tortoise is the opposite sex....isn't it. A few weeks ago, we found out our Ali is a female after 25ish years.....at least her name still suits her..

Judging by length of tail, and the look of the tail scutes it seems to be male but I only just learnt how to sex the other week lol

lol ou are all very correct!!! just brought speedy back from the vets and 'she' is most definately male lol!!!! am a bit shocked and keep calling him she lol but ah well will have to kep reminding myself thats its a he!!! Andy you are also right - the shell is too flat!!
