Default Hibernation

just a quickie : do you have to hibernate hermans tortoises and what age do you have to start?

How old is your tortoise?

You dont have to hibernate but they do benefit from it. Most people will say that they can be hibernated from a very young age. It just changes the length of time that they hibernate for, the younger they are the shorter the hibernation.

You also have to make sure that they have had a good steady growth and weight gain before hibernation.
