Default My tort seems fed up

Could it be due to the weather being colder as my tort was really active last week when it was warm and sunny and now she just wants to stay in the cool zone of the enclosure .Even if I pick her up and put her under the basking light she moves away and returns to her cool spot.

They are sensitive to air pressure and will hunker down and do nothing on overcast days.

mine didnt even go out into the garden yesterday, on nice clear day they cant wait to get out there. today i am just about to put the lamps on, i will let them warm upi for anhour and see how they go. if they all go back to bed i am not going to worry, the weather is miserable so i cant blame them!

One reason why keeping a simple diary or records helps. You can eventually Id "things your tort does and when" according to weather etc. Also you then now when it is not behaving properly and things need to be done or checked.

Alicia - I wounldn't worry too much - the light levels haven't been great this week - 2 of mine have eaten and are asleep by mid day and are not to worried about basking for long at the moment. As long as she is eating and not losing weight.

agreed, i keep a fully comprehensive diary on each of my animals. helsp to know when its time for a vet trip, and when its coincidence. i have a big a4 spiral bound pad aswell as "tortoise diary software" to record everything.
