Default My New Tort Table

Got my tort table this week - not set up yet as only get my 2 new torts on Sunday

Waiting for a couple of bits to come and then I can sort it out.

What does everyone think...does it look right and is there anything else I can get?

The megaray light will be pointing down, it justs need to be attached to a seperate piece of wood.

That's a very nice table, are you going to treat it with some waterproof varnish or line it with plastic?

Just a little tip... move the bark hide from the side of the table as they may climb on it and climb out! I wouldn't screw the wood in place to hold the lamp until you've had a good play around with it to get the temps right - it took me ages of adjusting to get mine right with the megaray (which I changed to a few days ago and am really pleased with).

Can't wait to see updated pics of the table with your torts in it.

Hi!

Yeah the bark hide is going to be removed all together and put outside as I could just picture the little darlings climbing on top of it and then out!! I've got some duck pebbles and some smaller polished pebbles which I am going to add once we fill it with hemp. Yeah we will probably varnish it at some point just may not get round to it before Sunday when we go pick up the Horsfields. I'll get some sort of plastic for the base.

So does it look big enough for 2 torts?

Is it about 3ft x 2ft? If so that will be fine for two hatchlings and should last a few years as they grow so slowly.

I bought the wooden bendy things from pets at home but I think you can get them anywhere. They are called playstix and bend into shapes
