Excellent cake - well done you!

By the way, didn't realise you were in Andover - I lived in Middle Wallop many years ago and worked often in Andover!

You're very lucky - you have an excellent vet for tortoises in your neck of the woods - John Chitty.

Its a hard lesson to learn.. Never trust a banana!!

Trouble is with John Chitty is he works for Strathmore and Im not keen on them for my cats, I suppose I could use him for the torti and Foxcotte for the vets??

Middle Wallop is nice, I have friends in Nether Wallop... I used to work for the Andover Advertiser

We lived at the top of the hill on the road out towards Salisbury, out of the main centre of the village. Because I had no child care there I worked as a waitress in the Fifehead Manor at nights. Also managed to pick up a bit of temping work, mainly at TSB Trust Co and Twinings (cos I was the only temp on the agency's books who could operate their antiquated, and very busy! switchboard!)

Blast from the past, I've just done a search on the Fifehead and see it's been bought out by a development company and turned into luxury apartments and houses! I'm sad to see that happen - it was a great place and I loved working there! Very popular with celebrities too - I met quite a few famous people there!

Oooh, I'm very old you know!!

You were probably still at school when I was there - it was 26 years ago when I lived in Wallop.

At Twinings I temped on the switchboard - they had the old pbx board for 2 people to operate and like I said, I was the only one on the agency's books who could operate one!

Ahh, I was there 16 years ago now...

Funny though as someone in accounts used to live in those houses, she was a permanent temp aswell....

Small world!
