I prefer to use a piece of corkbark wedged across one end of the tank as a basking area, it's more stable than a floating dock which is really only good for small turts, and at a couple of quid it's also a lot cheaper.

I have got a few rehomers, when I have them first make sure they have all there needs as said food, light etc, but I also turn the light off in the day and leave it on all night so they are undisturbed with people passing, once they have learnt to bask again, and have gained confidence I slowly change the lighting hours back to normal, seems to work, good luck

Hi I put plastic plants for shelter, as they tend to rip up everything climbing, but I grow duckweed in my ponds so they have this as their veg, you can even grow it in a bucket outside.

Plants are good, anything that gives them some cover and makes them feel secure, I put background material on the back and ends of my tanks so only the front is clear, it helps a lot as it gives them corners to hide in.

there is backing on the back and one side is against the wall so 2 sides open will get some plants.
they are really coming out of them selves and swimming about seem alot happier (i hope)
