are you using an exoterra thermomater or a digitial one, i keep some of my torts at 32 hot spot and some at a 35 hot spot. i would check what your cool end is aswell. what kind of tort are you keeping

nobody asks stupid questions when it comes to making sure our animals are ok. when i got my first hermanns,i didnt know what urates was, so i rung my husband up in a huge panic asking him if tortoise blood was white! i was convinced it was loosing white blood from his bottom

its a digital thermometer.. 35 in hot spot.. will go check shade and will take new pics..

Thank you everyone, I want him to be happy!

I am getting a med tortoise, not sure which one yet, we are choosing tomorrow..

Looks good, better now the lights are lower.

I use a digital thermometer as they are more exact in the readings.

One question though....why do you have the bit of wood seperating the cage? If your getting a little baby it might not get over the wood.

I did it like the one in the guide to torti tables.. I have raised the soil/sand mix and the bedding area so its not such a drop now?

I thought the wood was so everything stayed seperate???

22 in shade between 32-35 in hot...

Should be no problem then. Glad to see someone else using a guinea pig cage, they make great enclosures and easy to clean.
