I'm not too sure about finances at the moment but I will look into it cos i thought like a lot of reptiles they tolerated it rather than enjoyed it, but if it helps then i'm sure she wouldn't mind 2. Will all vets perfrom the checks or will it have to be specialist reptile vets like you need with most snakes?

I was looking at Hermanns as they are generally a litle smaller than Horsefields aren't they although if there are any reasons I should choose 1 over the other i'm all ears lol. Do you have a rough idea of how long this size will last an 08 torotise if I manage to get hold of 1?

Sorry for all the questions but I know a lot of people just rush in with no research and I wanna make sure it's right

As to the 'weed only' diet... there are some purists that believe that is a new keepers only route... it is not.

I actually believe diets like T-Rex tortoise diet are actually a greater benefit to the tortoise of a new keeper because you know the tortoise is getting all the nutrition it needs in the proportion it needs without the guesswork.

I use and have used a similar diet for over 8 years now... fantastic results.

The point is that you don't have to kill yourself providing a green based diet if you don't want to.

Also... with the T-Rex diet there is no need for UVB although it wouldn't hurt to provide it if you'd like to.
