Cool Outdoors Enclosure

Heyy x

ive just started building my outdoor enclosure for My iccul skippy =D

so to start of , ive decided to convert the greenhouse for him the little tyke can have plenty of room to go about his business in there. It would be okay to put him in there wouldnt in there wouldnt it ?
next weekend i going out to buy some plants to go in there and was just wondering what sort of plants would be okayy to go in there ? i was thinking of putting some French Marigolds , Variouse types of Grasses , Busy lizzies etc etc . Would these be okayy ? also would it be okayy if i put Coco shells around the plants and such ? would the torts eat them and be harmfull to them ?

Also at what sort of age would i be able to determine the sex of my iccul tort ?

Annnnnnddd also how do i tell what sex the iccul one is ? hes/shes a marginated tort so im not to sure .

thnx in advance x

i am sure there is a sticky somehere about edible planting. if not try google. some good plants to start with for looking pretty and offering shelter is hebe, ornamental grasses, strawberry plants, sedum, rose bush, mallow, echeveria, coral bells, and of course, tortoise freindly weeds! thats a few to get you started....... and as for the sexing of the tortoise, how big is it?

Here's a good edible plant list:

Diet and healthy growth

Dwarf hebes and lavenders are good for enclosures too for the tort to hide under.

Be careful if you're buying from a garden centre as the plants will have been treated with pesticides. You need to wash off all the soil from around the plant, replant in pesticide free soil and wait for new growth before you let your tort have access to them to eat.

Sexing depends on how big your tort is - if you post a pic of the plastron and tail then people will look for you, but if it's too small it will be too soon to tell.
