I don't keep boxies but have often considered them so I've read up on them, and I believe like turtles they are mainly carnivorous when young, becoming more omnivorous as they get older.
Got any pix of it, what species and where did you get it?

yehh box turtles are generally opportunistic omnivores. i thought it was pretty odd cuz alot of land-dwellers are herbivores.
Box turtle diet heres a link for you to follow, it talks about their diet n feeding them.

I've got something good and easy for you... T-Box turtle diet.
Ive been raising some Cuora flavomarginato (Chinese Box turtles) on the stuff for 2 years now. While I've fed it exclusively I'd suggest using it as a supplement to the diet you are already providing. Using this diet there is no need to worry about MBD which is a very common problem among captive boxies because of their specialized diet. Boxies are seem to be very well suited to the UK climate. Your best success will come when you can get it outdoors asap. They are one chelonian that have a huge history of properly raising in good shape and form in captivity. (btw... caught/released/saved 2 yesterday going to and from work... very cool animals.) Ed Quote:

If the turtle can bury down into some mulch you don't have to worry about the temperatures unless it gets below freezing. Temperatures down to the 40s or 50s at night with a rise into the 60s or 70s (F) will keep most North American boxies active.
The Chinese boxies are the same but the Indonesian species need it a little warmer at night. Ed Quote:
