Default firts day success

hi all. yesterday was the first day that i have had all of my shed lights and everything else all setup as i HOPE it will stay, providing it works ok. up to now, fingers crossed, its working a treat.

in my new low rise leopard shed i have got lots of insulation, a night time ceramic set to come on at 18c and a powersun 160w set up to come on at 8 am. the powersun raises the ambient temp to 26c in the shed and gives a basking site of 35c. then at 10am i opened the door to let them all out into the greenhouse. i have to say the two hours intensive warming seemed to do them alot of good, they were very active and grazed through out the day, just going back into the shed to top up the energy levels with a ten minute bask. I took my hubbys advice and turned the greenhouse basking lights off and up to now, they havent missed them at all. so i will just be putting the greenhouse lamps on in the gloomy, chilly weather. My powersun will be getting turned of at approx 8 pm and the shed door will be locked to keep them all snug and safe.

Thats great Ali - I bet they all love it - I am still waiting for electrics and insulation too be fitted - I do love their enclosure but it is rather big to heat!!! I am going for a tubular heater and 2 x 160 a powersuns in the smaller end and just flourescent lamp in the perspex bit - maybe a domestic heater of some sort for background during the winter.
