Default Escaping turtle

I went out to check on my snapper, Avi, in his pond this morning, and low and behold, he wasnt in there!
I pulled everything out of his pond, no result, I scoured the garden, looked behind, in and under the shed, looked in all the flower beds, jumped over the neighbours fence to look in her garden...nothing!
I couldnt keep searching as I had to go to work, and had a lot of appointments. On my way to work I went to the police station and reported him missing(I was really worried he may have been stolen as well, my mind was racing), the woman behind the desk took all my details, I also told her of the potential danger to the public, hes not massive but certainly big enough to cause damage, also my garden backs on to a school!
Later on today, the police phoned me up, saying they had searched around my house, and if I couldnt find him when I came home, they were going to contact he media, newspapers, radio, and possibly the local news to warn the public of the potentially dangerous turtle roaming sudbury!
I dont think they would have covered it positively!
Luckily enough, it didnt come to that, I came home, and after searching the bushes round my house, returned to my garden, where after another half hour searching, found him buried in a flower bed!
panic over...back in his pond, until tomorrow, when his tank will be repaired

I told you they were sneaky buggers didn't I! If there's a way out they'll find it, and if there isn't then chances are they'll make one!

lucky you found it so close, my common escaped about 3 years ago and turned up 3 quarters of a mile away,

the police would not take my warnings seriously, infact they just said it would be logged as a missing pet, i said "ok and i'll be sure to log any children with missing fingers"

I know mate, you told me, tbh it was my own fault, I cleaned him out the other day and left his 'lid' off.
Fixing his tank tomorrow, so we wont have any more scares

I was lucky my police took it so seriously(I might have been seen to look a bit of a bastard by the media), and yes, very lucky he didnt get that far.
Hed buried himself in the grave of my fairly recently deceased tortoise, which was a bit ghoulish, couldnt bring myself to check if he'd devoured the corpse
