Look at Common Musks, they are about the only species that you could comfortably keep in a tank of that size when adult whether male or female, other musks might be a possibility such as Razorbacks or Loggerheads, but they are harder to find and do grow a bit bigger.
The other alternative would be to get a Map turtle which was old enough to sex and make sure it's a male, they rarely exceed 5" and a single one would be OK in that size tank. But you'd have to be certain it was male because females can get to twice that size and would need a much larger tank.
