Default Best seeds to buy....

hello everyone,

I am getting fed up of trawling about ehre i live to find decent things for pebbles to eat.

However when looking for seeds i get confuzzled which i need. i went o shelled warriors e bay site and there are just so many to choose from. Which ones are best for a hermanns. there are some which contain grass, sopme which are hermann specific but with less plant variety, some for just flowerrs...

Yikes.

Anyway, obviously i would like to give Sarahs lot a go, but failing that does anyone know of any other good seeds? I want lots of variety as even i am bored of the whole red/white clover, and dandlion with the occasional whatever else!

Anyw ideas? I know Tlady does some but they seem to be quite spensive....

Also - does pebbles need grass?

I'm done for now....

K xxx

You could always grow yourself some salad in the back garden but if you havent got enough room, there are plenty of herbs we can eat so they must be able to.

Could always try marajuana(sp) just say its for the tortoise

Have you seen this Tortoise kit for Hermann, Ibera, Horsfield, Marginated on eBay, also, Reptiles, Pet Supplies, Home Garden (end time 01-Aug-08 15:52:46 BST)

My hermanns like to eat fresh grass great for added fibre as part of a mixed diet.

ALL my seeds are suitable for all tortoises

Kay.. i have bought that, am needing some new substrate anyway and you do hemp and oyster shell, might as well do a job lot... however WHICH TO USE! At the mo i use sand soil mix which she doesn't dig into and i can never get it NOT dusty no matter how much i spray, and these pellety thigns which i hate as they stink. However si this because it is the pre mixed san.soil stuff? IO went to get all the bits for her arrival and the shop ownever told me that sand/soil mix could cause them pain if got into their joint and recommended this tort mix. When i got it home... what a suprise - sand and soil...

Maybe i need to play about with the mix ratio - but i do find it sticks to her like glue!

Sarah - if i get some from you will you revise my postage
Ta!

There is much a debate on hemp, but i still use it. I use a good layer of top soil and sand. Then on 3/4 i use a thin layer of hemp and then the rest under the heat light oyster shell.

Its your choice

hi i pick a lot of weeds for mine although we do rely on natural graze for the bulk of my adults and juveniles feed.i decided this year to try and encourage my leopard hatchlings to graze early on rather than feed a lot on the slate, really just to get them eating grass.i sowed Sarah's leopard and star mix in their outside pen.but as there are so many in a packet i used these for my hermans and spurthighed hatchlings pen's as well.awsome so far this year apart from the 2 leopard hatchlings we have 9 hermans and 2 spurthighed with more to come i hope and all of them have started to graze i am very happy with this mix and i am keen to see how they develop now while they still have the oppurtunity to go outside.
