***UK CB Tortoise Breeders List***

You may have to get on the ferry & pick one up - there are a number of breeders in Northern England so you go to Liverpool & go from there.

I don't know of any breeders in Northern Ireland I'm afraid. George's idea of collecting one via ferry is a good idea though. I have a very good list of breeders, if you'd like to pm me your email address then I'll send it to you.

As for reading there's a thread in the newbie section with links that I found really useful when first researching care of med torts:

MED TORTOISES... useful links

I also bought quite a few books but the only one I'd really recommend (due to the others being either outdated or having conflicting information) is Hermann's Tortoise by Holger Vetter.

They are most likely farmed rather than scooped up from the wild.
