Get a higher output, 5% is the absolute minimum, and by the time it's degraded over the first few weeks the output will be well down. A higher output lamp will remain effective for much longer, I use a 10% 13W in my smaller tank.

![]() Just one more issue to clarify - I've come across 10% UVB bulbs that are either specified for desert or sub-tropical reptiles but the wattage seems to be the same. Is there a significant difference in output or would either of them be suitable? Thanks. ![]()
