My tort is having a home revamp and I want to get him a megaray bulb, but I was looking on here:
Mega Ray | Kimbos Reptile World

and there are afew. Which one should I be buying? and what are the differences?

My tort is a 07 hermanns, and the tort table will be either 3ft x 20" or 4ft x 2ft

for a table thats 4x2 size it would be the 100w self ballasted or maybe the 160w. the higher wattage will produce more in the way of heat and i use a 160 in a 4x2x2 viv with zero worries about temps. i personally would go for the 160w but thats just me, others may say go for the 100w.

The others are externally ballasted ( so basically they need a starter ) or require the ownership of a UVB meter

hi in my opinion a 100w megaray positioned at one end of the table will be more than enough hermans are an active and hardy tortoise and dont really do well in a high ambient temperature they prefer a temperature gradient with a basking spot of 30c-35c my youngsters all prefer to dig into the substrate at night and if you provide a waterbowl they can get into they will make full use of it.

Think I'm going for the 3ft table and the Mega-Ray 100w Self Ballasted bulb. I'm planning on making him an outside enclosure when he gets older
