i want a leopard tortoise but i was wondering how many months a year they can live outside for?

i no not on rainy days but would a hermanns tortoise be better can they live outside until they hibernate?

or are there any other types?

Ibera, graecas, marginata, horsfields are also able to be outside during a normal UK Summer.
Leopards can be more difficult to keep, without any housing for wet cold weeks/days.

If you want a bigish tort that can stay out for most of the summer, I would go for Marginated. Mind you I would say that as i am desperate for some myself!!!!

You need to ask yourself can you house a large tortoise in the winter? you need a very large enclosure such as a shed or garage.
