Actually it wouldn't, it's best just to put them in with some spaghnum moss when transporting. They'd slosh about too much in water, and besides most species are fine out of water for atleast a day.

I don't think any airline would allow you to take one as hand luggage, your best bet would be to come over on the ferry. I don't know about Welsh petshops, but I'm sure there must be at least one reputable shop in Wales that could get you a Musk turtle, if they're available then most shops should be able to order one.

it is about 4 hours away..Wrexham is in North wales....it is a place called waterways aquatic centre(part of a garden centre)..its really good and specialies on everything aquatic including snakes,torts,spiders,scorpions

Well the petshop got back to me to say that they can't source a Musk or Mud turtle but they can get me a juvenile Missippi Map turtle (about 2-3") in length for €25. Now I want to make sure it's a male so what's the best way to sex them? Thanks.

There are places in South Wales you can get musks from.
