Thanks Sue... and I'd just like to say how much I appreciate the fact that (with all your experience and also as the breeder of my torts) you never condemn me for trying something different to what you recommend in your care sheet... but instead show genuine interest in it. I wish everyone displayed as much humility.

Spraying does not really work, the soil needs to be watered so it can hold moisture and release it this way. I am not keen on sphagnum moss as it can harbour mould spores and needs to be replaced frequently. That is not to say it would not work though.
