Default Getting my tortoise (maby 's) tomorrow:)

hiya just thaught i would tell you all i am getting my tortoise tomorrow , or mite be getting 2 my parents are still thinking about it !! silly question but what should i bring with me to transport the tort/s in?

Really pleased you managed to find one... or two.

Take a box filled with substrate... whatever you're using... keep the tort cool and it will dig down and sleep all the way home.

How old is the one you're getting? You won't need a very big box for a hatchling, just something deep enough for it not to get out of.

great pics so cute ! do you no how big he/she is?

also i dont have eany spare sand/soil well i have loads of topsoil so would just topsoil be ok? or i have hay/straw bedding or sawdust

he is liek 7.6cm long and topsoil would be ok i think........ well i use like a 80/20 mix of topsoil and topsand

Topsoil will be fine and a deep shoe box will be big enough. Can't wait to see pics of your new tort... I'll bet you won't sleep tonight with excitement.

i wil post pics of him asap ! a shoe box with just top soil ok? or shal i use wood shavings (the stuff u use as substrate for hamsters rabbits e.t.c but the one i have is quite fine kinda like hemp)
