Default Hibernation help!!!!

Hi everyone when do you put your tortoises in to hibernation and how do you do it. Also my tortoises arn't eating very well can you help me!!!!!!!!!

Hi Buzz

i am not sure what species you keep. maybe you should inform us!
I am an oldie. and traditional!
I reduce the food intake, then cut it off all together, I also reduce the heat and UV!
I must state that I do daily baths at this stage!
Then, when ready, I pack them in a box, packing in with shredded paper, in another box, again packed with shredded paper, and they go in the shed.
I do have thermometers in with the tortoises with the "prong" at the side of the tortoise and its reading outside!
I have a heater in the shed, that ensures temps are kept at 5 degrees. if it drops lower the heater kicks in!
It has worked for me for years, so why change something that has not broke?
