One thing I have learned since reading things on tortoise forums-
Ask 100 people a question and get 57 different answers. Each answer is the ONLY way things should be!!!

The only thing which is predictable is that the outcome will be an arguement and a locked thread!

My way of thinking is this

Read as much as you can
Research as much as you can
Keep an open mind
Look at your animals behaviour

It is the animal that will tell you if you are doing thing right or not

I think passionate is the new word for 'mad'

Wow that is so reassuring!
Having only just found the internet forums for tortoises, I am amazed at the varying advice on offer!
I have joined approx 16 groups but already reduced to 6!

Personally I don't use cuttlefish due to the phosphate content. Same reason I don't use supermarket bought greens - force grown and full of phosphates.
I use Calcium carbonate BP from the chemist and nutrobal.
