Well, take it from me they do - their motive you wonder .... purely to help tortoises arrive safe and sound!

With certain journeys they have merely asked for a donation to the Tortoise Trust, not accepted fuel costs - they do what they do because they care and care deeply.

Too good to be true?? Well, it is true and is says SO much about how much both Julie and Brian care.

I've driven many hundreds of miles myself to rehome turtles, often with little in the way of thanks and very rarely any monetary compensation, but there's no way I could make the time to do it on a regular basis.
It's great that there are people around who can do it though, is their service only for tortoises, or does it apply to other animals as well? I get loads of offers every week to rehome turtles, but can rarely find a way to get them from one part of the country to another.

Thanks Sarah, I am sure the money is put to uses like paying vet bills for the sick tortoises that are handed over to the TT, printing/postage costs for newsletters etc etc. Andy would really be the best person to ask though.

What I can say for sure is that only tortoises will benefit from such kind donations, which is what we all want after all!

Thanks for asking.

I have only ever known them to transtort <g> tortoises, as this is where they have their experience - email them Graham as neither Julie or Brian are members of this forum to answer on here.

I must say, i would ferry a tortoise hundreds of miles too, if one was in need of a new home and was located relatively near me, then i would take it and ferry it!
If I knew as much about turtles, as I do for tortoises I would do the same!
Transtort sounds great!

I deliver all my babies myself - have travelled as far as Scotland and Devon with no money compensation. It's what you do if you care!
