With turtles/terrapins and infact pretty much any living creature, including us humans, there are never any guarantees. In a large enclosure, with good quality water and a decent basking site two males could possibly live together, but there's also the distinct possibility that they'll fight, and you'll need to separate them. Would you be able to do that? Turtles don't need "friends" as it were, so unless you're prepared to have two appropiate setups, I'd say stick with one.

The most important form of UV for turts is UVB, apparently UVA can also be beneficial. What lighting do you have at the moment? Do you have a heat source over your basking area?

Terrapins need a full uv light and will need a basking spot to promote good health. Two males can live together IF their envornment is large enough. Despite some saying they aren't communial I would like to add that I have has 2 large girls in here of 22years of age who chose not to eat when they was separeated, one together no problems. Ours live in ponds and we have never experinced fighting but that maybe down to the f/m ratio and the space. Hope that helps.

it simulated the full UV spectrumof natural sunlight.
high light output.
produces exelent natural colors.

will that do?

as for the 2 males together the one i have now is 3-4months of age and i will be getting one around the same age(small) and its a 42cm tank wide and has a good basking point.

Not sure what light you have at present, could you provide more details please?

As for your terrapins, it's difficult to sex when small so only time will tell. The tank size will probably do for a short time but you will need to upgrade as they grow.
