I'm always surpirsed to see eggs out of season. One of my torts did it one year having shown signs of being gravid for the whole of October and the vet decided it was best to induce (re the eggs appearing to have a lot of calcium laid down) rather than leave them to the following spring. I have to say though that in all the years I have had torts I have only had this happen once! My torts generally lay in spring under normal daylight patterns

Well sue as you know we have had a bad summer, i brought my tortoises in to wind down and they started to lay.
This is the correct time of year for tunisians to lay eggs and IS NOT OUT OF SEASON they do not hibernate

My ibera egg was laid 2 months ago so very start of autumn, and is due to hatch any day

I know where this has happened lots of times to many breeders but they dont have the guts to say it on an open forum due to getting agressive replys, and saying they are over breeding. Not saying yours was aggressive.

Sarah your incubator has been busy this year .i think this is down to your excellent husbandry and the health of your animals,i just wish i was brave as you but i dont think its worth posting any breeding successes as all you get is bad feeling and nasty remarks.good luck with these egg i hope they all hatch.

Thanks Terry means alot. I just think people are jealous to be honest.
Please dont be worried to post pictures, that means the nasty evil people win. They try to bring you down but hold your head up high or just post them on Shelled Warriors you wont get any nasty remarks on their.
There are so many tortoise breeders in the Uk but they would never dream of posting on a forum, its a dam shame.
