My biggest is 6 - she is 14" and weighs 7 kgms - they have a big outdoor enclosure.

They were kept indoors until this year though.

They are a lovely tort to keep - very friendly.

I'd go to the TPG (tortoise protection group) caresheet as a first look. Similar to shelled warriors caresheet in fact, which is also recommended.

Redfoots are great but do get larger than most med species so you have to have indoor heated accomodation all year round. Obviously as they get big they need more indoors space!

Hingebacks are my favourite. They are easy to care for and easy to feed as they can eat fruit and veg . There are loads looking for homes too as everyone overlooks these. Mine is 7 inches at the moment and is 5 year old so not a small tortoise but not huge either.

yes, your right there, you wont get the right one no matter which you choose. Just bare in mind your current space situations and the like before making a final decision.

Well i was buying a tort table but due to costs and the fact im pretty handy with wood i may have a go myself so im looking at a 5ft by 2ft table to start with then il look at putting a second 2 1/2 ft deck on it as well. But as itl be a brand spanking new baby one itl only be little so the second deck will go on at a later date
