SWsarahhas 2 for sale, red foot marg and blazingtortoise are also expewrienced breeders.

For the record, you dont have to hibernate your tort the first year, and no matter whether its your 1st or 10th tortie that is a hibernating species, when you hibernate them the first time, its always going to be your first time think about that too.

You will also find more variety at smaller adult sizes in hibernating species

G luck mate.

Quite wise words from Frase there. Don't let hibernation put her off if she really wants a species that just happens to be hibernating. Everyone is terrified the first time, and worries a bit every single time after that. But there's loads of guides and help on here when it's that time of year.

I keep Leopard tortoises - I dont have the worry of hibernation but I do have exceptionally high electric/heating bills.

Good luck with finding one for your GF.

Yeah, they do get pretty big. I desperately want one, but I'd only have one, cos I know i could provide for it.
