I'd have a go at making your own hunny, it'd be loads cheaper. Have a look at the sticky on housing at the top of the page and it'll giv eyou lots of ideas - basically its a square box so nothing too technical about it all.

And yes Aloe Vera is fine

I paid £2.50 for a full length peice of decking which would have a made a decent sized table two would have been even better, simply cut the size, screw it together attach a base again B&Q will cut a bit of ply and the whole thing would be less than £10, and been a lot bigger than their sizes, the smallest wouldn't last 5 mins.

failing that, if you don't feel upto trying to make your own. A member on this site I love tortoies (his name is scott) makes tables at great prices. They come already made up with exception to the overhanging light batton which you just need to scrwe in. He has an advert on the classified section. I know he's been busy as of late and unwell but I guarantee his quality as i have one of his tables in my house Hes a easy bloke to talk to and get on with also.

Good Luck with whichever way you choose to go and hopefully we will get a lot of pictures when you are done

Matt

I personally think this enclosure advertised is too small. It would be ok for a year but you would have to buy another as the tortoise grows.
Its far better to make your own, or even pay a friend to make you one that will last a few years. It would be cheaper and larger in the end so better for the tortoise.

That's not bad prices but you can definitely do better with regards to space and price, if you make your own, or customise some furniture or something

Indoor rabbit cages (the biggest and 2nd biggest sizes) are good too, and they come up often on freecycle and gumtree etc. If you have other pets, or want some form of protection (from meddling kids, for instance!) then these are doubly good since they have a caged top half

said it already and will say it again teehee. Scott on here is amazing crafter, and amazing prices, i cant find anyone yet to beat him on price. his prices cover pretty much the materials that are used and delivery. He makes these purely as a hobby and somthing to do. I know from talking to him (in great periods of time actually.) that he is only making these because he was so angry with the prices his mrs was paying for her tortie setups and now does it just to help other keepers and prevent them having to pay so much for these tables etc.

Just an idea (sorry i keep pushing him, i just love the reason he is doing it and think its gfreat to see someone unselfish in this manner)

As already said it is cheaper to make your own but if you are not in the position to then those tables do look really nice - I am not sure about the correct size for your tortoise but the bigger the better.
