hi, i have had my musk (fred) for 3 weeks now all is fine but i have never seen him bask, he pops his head out of the water from time to time but thats it. many thanks chris.

You'd have got a quicker response if you hadn't put this in the Caresheet section, people don't look in here so often!

I wouldn't worry, Musks are not noted baskers, even young ones which do tend to bask more than adults still don't bask anywhere near as much as classic basking species like Sliders.

Mine rarely bask. But I do find that like to sit on the slope, in the water, with their heads poking out.

So maybe a platform under the water, but shallow enough for them to poke their head out etc, might be a better idea
