Default basking??

How long should I leave my little redfoot to bask...8 hours aday to long? also I bought it from the bet shop it's a 70w spot lamp cost me about a fiver...bit of advice anyone please??

You should be leaving the basking lamp on for around 12 hours a day and allowing the tortoise to decide when he basks.

cheers harry....looks like i'm doing something rite....leave the uv and the basking lamp on for 12 hours...thanks again

Leave the basking lamp on for 12-14hrs and keep it routine (Mike Pingleton).

Also with regards to light as mentioned by Blondesarah try and give the little guy as much sun as is physically possible. My pair get pretty much constant on a weekend (5-8hrs) a day dependant on what needs to be done
