Default Horsfield tortoise

Hi
I was recenty brought a horsfield tortoise for a birthday present, but a friend also has a horsfield tortoise but it looks nothing like mine and is also very grumpy! I know they can vary but how do you tell the difference between a horsfield and a hermann's?
Sorry I am new to all this so will probably rattle on!!

Cool Sorry

Okay I am new at this and am obviously useless too but I can't seem to add a photo of my tortoise, but from the look of the pics you have shown he is definately a horsfield. So thanks and I'll have to try and work this out!

Hermanns tortoise:
The Hermann's Tortoise lacks thigh tubercles or spurs; the tail is long and fairly pointed, with an additional hard, bony tip. The tail of a male specimen is, of course, much longer than that of a female.

Horsfield tortoise:
It is of a generally light-golden hue with black markings, reaches a maximum of about 250 mm , and combines the miniature spurs with pointed tail similar to T. hermanni. It has a 'stubby' squarish body, a long neck, and, most distinctively, only four toes per foot.

Sorry but I can not really tell you the difference between the two either, but here is my Horsfield as another example.

This is a picture of my tortoise. I thought she was a spur thigh but reading this thread I have now discovered that Horsfields have spurs too so I'm wondering if that's what she is. She measures 275 mm. Perhaps someone could confirm for me. Thanks

Apologies for size of picture. I'm very new to this posting lark and obviously have done something not quite right. I'll try not to do it again. Promise! Sorry!

Looks like an algerian to me - where did this tortoise come from?
