Tort licences
some info was said that if it says germany/slovenia on a tort licence then it would be 99.9% Wild caught...i decided to do a bit of reserch and decided to email the person who issued my certificate and this is what she replied
Dear Andy, Our information shows that this tortoise is captive bred to at least 2nd generation and does originate from Germany as the certifcate states. This tortoise was not directly imported by Wiltons from Germnay they came into the UK through another company. If the lady from the Tortoise Trust does have evidence to substantiate her claims about Mr Wilton and any illegal issues of wild caught tortoises coming from Germany or/and Slovenia then I would advise her to raise them with our Enforcement section (tel. no. pm me for it), the Police or Trading Standards. Fell for that didnt you Andy no its not, what a load of poo they have just spouted to you. It was walking around in the wild then picked up by someone placed in a so called 'captive breeding farm' and then there you have it a CB tortoise YEAH RIGHT

I don't know about Slovenia but certainly not all tortoises from Germany are WC because I got my marginated from a very nice fellow with plenty of pictures of his adults and setups who brought them over on the ferry in person, with his personal name and address on the certificate...
He said there are a lot of tortoise breeders in mainland Europe and he gets much higher prices bringing his torts over to the UK to sell.

what a load of crap!
The torts from Solvinia are raised in large enclosed fields, and eggs are artificially incubated. The ones in germany are raised in indoor factories. Anyone WITH PROOF that it is differnt please post EVIDANCE here. EDIT~ I have proof of my statements, and will provide it upon the "proof" of anything contary.
