Hey hun, been in your shoes and know how hard it is to find correct information.

The ideal housing for all tortoises is a secure garden enclosure..u can't beat nature.

But if the tortoise is going to be kept inside then a tortoise table/indoor hutch is by far the best option around. they're relatively cheap..you could even make them yourself with ease (providing u don't have my DIY skills :P)

They provide more ground area than most vivs, so more room for the torts to move around, and great ventilation..as with species such a hermanns/horsefields you don't want the humidity to build up as it can cause respitary infections

I'm going to link a site which has helped me sooo much since discovering it, and thats Tortoise Trust Web - Start Page there are care sheets on there..and if you can't find anything in particular go to the search box and type in you're criteria..chances are if the tortoisetrust aint got it they have links to someone who does. They also do a course in chelonians which i'm currently taking, and it's fascinating.a real eye opener

hope that may help a bit

Katie

hardly. Something you'll learn if and when you get you're tort is...it's a constant learning curve, you seem to learn something new every day Why i love having them though tbh..

Plus this forum and that site have been a godsend to me, before i found them i was feeding and doing what i thought was best..and although i wasn't too far off the mark there were still things that needed improving like diet etc.

If theres anything u need to know just feel free to ask us n we'll try tohelp as much as possible

You can also use a underbed storage tub as housing as long as they cannot see through it.
