Most recommend either Hermanni or Horsfieldii as a 'first' tortoise.

When looking to purchase please do not purchase via the internet or petshop - you risk purchasing an import/wild caught tortoise.

Please refer to Tortoise Trust Web - Start Page when doing your research into the tortoise's requirements.

Please feel free to ask any questions, dont be fooled by the info given by petshops re: vivs, pellets & heatmats.

Better to ask now and get it right for the tort's sake than have to back peddle and amend!
