thats not as sily as it sounds lol
A cross made from rigid tubing on the top of his shell like a 4 propeller helicopter would prevent upturning.

if he is on his back for a long period of time i belive they will find it difficult to breath and suffercate.
And you could attach it with tape, and then remove the tape with sergical spirit. Would it no be easier to remove the cause of his falling? Rather than modifying the tort?

i just read this when i did a google search My sulcata tortoise use to do that, just make sure that the place it flips isn't too close to a heat lamp or its basking area. After a couples times it flips over, it will learn not to do it anymore. (mine use to flip over a rock) I would leave him there for about an hour to 2 and he kept doing for about 3 more day and i kept him there and helped him after 2 hrs and then he knew to stop doing it. lol. Becareful because mine never stayed flipped past 3 hours. (usually it takes them a while but they will manage to get back up if they have a rock next to them) |

If you make the walls slightly lent inward, they cannot climb them like this
