Does anybody know the correct age for when a tortoise is suitable for breeding?

What species of tortoise you referring to mate? As breeding age differs and alot depends on the size of the animal in question

(no expert!! terrific-tortoise may be the best one to ask)

For a slowly grown tortoise they are generally of breeding size between the age of 10 and 15. It does differ slightly between the species though.

I was just thinking of going into breeding them...... probably herman tortoise

I think it really has more to do with the torts size than age. If they have grown too fast they may breed earlier than one that has grown slowly.
