Default aspen bedding???

is aspen beddin suitable for my 2 hermanns i know they should have hemp but the pet shop didnt have any at the time... ?

i use 50/50 top soil and play sand but wanted to put somethinmg in ther bed area and in there carrier as im goin to a tort meetin on saturday

i use aspen when i have no hemp or hay

exactly the same as hemp apart from hemp is a bit softer

I was wondering this aswell, I was worried it would get stuck in their eyes though.

I'd stick with hemp..because i know if they ingest that it can't cause impaction.wheras i'm not sure with aspen..better to be safe than sorry

Aspen is fine-mine friend uses it for all his torts...

I have never seen apen bedding, but I would stick with hemp... You know that is safe!

aspen is used for snakes so it wont cause impaction or nout

Yeah, but equally..most snake owners don't feed directly on the bedding..majority feed in seperate tubs...or if u have strange snakes like mine, they strike the food then just go in their hides n eat in there (tunnel type things which don't touch the substrate)

If it's the long stringy kind of aspen it can get wrapped around little ones neck..........should be okay for adults, although compared to a bale of hemp its very expensive.

Aspen looks very similar to hemp.

I use aspen because i cannot get hemp anywhere in or around Reading.
I have only seen one bag of hemp in a place near Bristol and it looked like the aspen i am using.
