hi i have looked at loads of sites and i think the red foots are for more experienced keepers i can still have the one if i want to but really ubsure wat do u think i should do for the best for a totrtoise in my care ?

Seeings as Sarah has both and she is saying that reds are eisier, just research them and get whatever you prefer.

This is my temporary Leopard enclosure.... We are going to build a BIG one before next summer, this is only 2m squared


This is the Hermann's enclosure, though there is more stuff in it now. It is approx 16ft x 4ft.. I think!

Ok here is what i advise.
If you have the room reds are very easy to look after just many people get scared when you mention humidity which is very very easy to acheive.They don't hibernate

Also for beginners i would advise horsfields, ibera's,hermanns, marginated.

Horsfields love to dig so your outside enclourse will have to have some sort of wire mess at the bottom so you dont loose them, they can eat eat eat so you have to watch what they are eating. They do hibernate.

Ibera's and hermanns don't get too big or too small just a nice size, but require a large outside enclosure and inside enclosure like all tortoises. They do hibernate.

I have no experence of marginated tortoises but they can get rather big and quite hard to come by, stunning tortoises.
