Yes Ben, I would recommend the 'leafy jacket' approach too, just enough that you think would cover them.
If you weigh them every week when they are so small, you can measure their weight gain and adjust feeding accordingly......they can be piggies (I have one that would eat all day if I let her). I think what Shirl meant was that if they have eaten everything within 10 minutes then it wasn't enough........you could always seperate into 'pigs and normal eaters' at feeding time to make sure the greedier ones aren't scoffing all of it ![]() Hope this helps

What would be the "ideal" weight gain I should aim for? I'll get them weighed tonight. Also On a slightly nasty subject, one has some stringy digested food hanging out his bum. I haven't pulled it out on the basis I know it's bad to do that for other animals. I have been giving him extra baths to try and encourage him go but still there at the moment. Is this ok or should I be worried? Ben

Leave it a bit longer Ben........you could put one drop of olive oil around it, this might help it come out, it's probably hemp working it's way out. I would aim for between 3 - 4gs weight gain a month, it's worth remembering they wouldn't eat every day in the wild so it's very easy to overfeed in captivity. Hope this helps
