Default Oooooo...More baby torts...

2nd clutches for the season, for both pairs of Dark/Light Spur Thighed Iberas have been hatching this last week, with some extra/split scutes occuring from both females, but mainly the lighter hatchlings.

Here are some photos of the hatchlings, comparing both colours, and the unusual extra/split scutes...please enjoy...T.T.

Wow! beautiful Markings great photos, you must be really pleased.

I know the split scutes doesn't affect their health, but is it quite common, just out of interest?

Thanks for the comments guys ...

Shot, thanks...
Although extra/split scutes do occure, quite often they are random...were as with these torts, it appears genetic, because the split scutes are occuring in the same areas...
This is the 3rd hatchling so far to show this (several more eggs to hatch yet) so there could be more...T.T.

Another from her 1st clutch of the season, displaying genetic? extra/split scutes
