Thank you very much DarrenL.

Guys can I also recommend you to the following thread (I do hope Paul doesn't mind)

This goes to show that making the correct home for your torts won't cost a fortune like some vivs can fetch.

Indoor tort enclosure...on the cheap!

hi, im new to this site and i was wondering if anyone could help with a problem im having with my youngest hermanns? she's 1-2 years ols (not quite sure as the cert jst said 'hatched 2006) but shes gone off her food. i cant seem to get her to eat much and shes lost 10grams in 3 weeks. i dont know if i should be worried or not? she will eat just not as often as she usually does and she eats a lot less than my other hermanns whos 2-3 years old. and he seems much bigger! i've weighed her and she's 3.41 oz. my other 1s 9.16 oz!! she still seems very active...not sure if im worrying over nothing...? anyway, hope someone can help..?

Default substrate

So when it comes to the 50/50 mix what kind of sand? I've discovered that there are different kinds and I think I got the wrong one (builders and it's brick coloured from B&Q) Is that wrong? What and where do I get the other?

I did get the top soil though and I also got a bag of little rocks to mix it up.

Is that all bad did I totally get the wrong thing??? Oh and this is for a horizontal viv.
