yes katie and it's such a shame,so much good has been done already, we have sticky threads with great info(thank you katie for all the hard work), new members and old members coming forward and asking questions it's really nice to see, i hope it will continue and the shelled section go from strength to strength.

Wouldnt it be a case though that you couldnt re-create on this forum a care sheet or post or whatever from another site without giving credit to that site?
would that be allowed? for example
heres some info
xxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxx
source: www.a-notherforum.c0m
???

arh yes i see

It would also be good to have a sticky on species, habit and if cites cert is needed or not as a sticky, what do you reakon, i know in the past when researching a tortoise i have found it hard to find a the list telling me if a cites cert was needed or not.
Perhaps something like.

hermans (latin name)
habitat
diet
cites required:
what do you think?

that is what i was asking [when i said would that be alllowed followed by a question mark :P] cos I thought it was too, but im not sure if its not after reading this thread.

is it just actually when it is in the form of a link then?

OR More like when its just a link...so you have to go there to get info that you think you want?
whereas if the info is already posted here.... then its ok to say the forum its from as you dont need to go there for that info? but you may still ofcourse CHOOSE to out of your own free will instead of out of necesity to get the info you need

thats fair

and why the :S face?

I just think it's sad that you have to sign up for these sites before being given this important information.

i think the main problem is when it's just a link for instance i ask a question and as a reply i get a link directing me to the info, if it is always like this then people think oh well i won't bother asking on rfuk i'll go where they keep directing me, this then means rfuk lacks the info needed to help new members with tortoises and then whats the point of rfuk having a shelled section if you never get a answer but a link directing you?

LOL but the really sad thing is it not secret information to be given out to the selected priviledged few it's info that should be available to all tortoise owners for the benefit of the tortoise surely this is what such tortoise groups say they aim for the welfare and correct care of the tortoise! such information shouldn't be exclusive
