ive just bought a tort table but it has no fittings for lightings how would be best to light it?

You can use a clamp lamp and clamp it on to the side (make sure its fitted tightly)like in this one...



Or you can build a pole going across the top. Much like this one...

its also an idea to do something like this...

Depends on what bulb you go for will depend on the fitting, i use a combined bulb, which means it gives heat and UV from the same bulb, i find these are the best for me, they are around fifty pounds but they last you a very long time!! if you go for this type of bulb it has to be 12inches from the substrate!! to fit to my table i use a clamp lamp both of wich i got from this place;

Please do not use the clip on lamps from superstores, they have been known to slip and are a fire hazard. The only clip on lamps safe to use are the specialist reptile ones and even then I would be very careful how you attach them. Hanging lamps from a permanent fixture are far safer Anyway roasted tort stinks

It should actually be 12" away from the reptile, not the substrate (for a 100w lamp). If you're using a 160 watt MVB then ideally it should be 16"-18" away from the reptile.
