Hi,
Depends on what bulb you go for will depend on the fitting, i use a combined bulb, which means it gives heat and UV from the same bulb, i find these are the best for me, they are around fifty pounds but they last you a very long time!! if you go for this type of bulb it has to be 12inches from the substrate!! to fit to my table i use a clamp lamp both of wich i got from this place; http://kimbosreptileworld.co.uk/ligh...s-c-24_26.html Also this link is good shows step by step how to set up for your tort; http://www.tlady.clara.net/TortGuide/Guide.PDF Here is a link to a article i studied on lighting, it shows all the different types of UV and the ouput they give; High UVB Mercury Vapour Lamps in Zoos - Osram Ultra-Vitalux - ReptileUV Zoo Mega-Ray test results And here is pic of my table to give you some idea how high the light should be; ![]() I hope that helps you!!

Please do not use the clip on lamps from superstores, they have been known to slip and are a fire hazard. The only clip on lamps safe to use are the specialist reptile ones and even then I would be very careful how you attach them. Hanging lamps from a permanent fixture are far safer
