There are no native turtles in the UK. Therefore, what you've seen is an invasive species. Ideally it should be caught and either homed with someone who keeps them or moved to a place where it will not destroy native wildlife.

Yes, I agree. Someone found one in a little pond in a park by the seaside up here a couple of years ago and took it to the local Blue Reef. Better than leaving it I think.

There are lots of them in most of the London parks, some of them are actually put there deliberately by the park wardens. One lake near me has reputedly the largest population in the UK, I'm not sure about that but there are quite a few in there, and they were all put there by the wardens who have caught them in other parks in the borough.
