What size table do you keep your redfoots in,And how do you keep the humidity up.

7 foot 4 table.

They are kept on 3 foot of top soil with children play bark on top. I have two lights in the table now winter is here:


They are sprayed every day with warm water.
The substrate is kept very damp as you can see from this picture of my red hunting for worms:

looks good,How do you stop the wood rotting have you got some sort of plastic sheet under the soil,What type of uv bulb do you use.

Its all varnished and there is a layer of pastic under the soil.
I dont use UVB with my reds, i found it hurt their eyes. I use large 100w bulbs from B&Q.

Are they ok without uv then,will they grow ok without it(shell and bones)

My tortoises get alot of calcium and vitamins every day, they also get protein in the forum of cat biscuits every week.
In the wild red foots would hardly come accross uvb.

Do you put them outside in summer,What kind of food do yours prefer,Im thinking of getting a couple thats why im asking you loads of questions.

Yes they go outside in the summer.
I feed mine 60% greens and 40% fruit.
