Default Varnish

i found an underbed storage box for my tortoise which i hope to get soon or in spring.

anyway, is varnish ok for a tortoise or will i have to sand it off?

Varnish is better than bare wood because it more hygenic and easy to clean

Any varnish that is fully dried is fine.
